One frame of an animated comic that never existed: a samurai at a neon-lit ramen stand, chopsticks raised with noodles mid-lift, eyes locked on someone off-frame — a standoff interrupted at dinner. The subject is playful; the rendering language is the test. The final image must look printed, not rendered.
The look — Spider-Verse idiom, non-negotiable. This is a non-photorealistic rendering task and the style requirements are the rigid part:
The subject. The samurai: armored or robed, topknot or straw hat, sword within reach against the counter — mid-slurp-interrupted, noodles suspended from raised chopsticks, gaze hard toward the viewer's right. Gesture over polish: the pose must snap as a graphic silhouette. The stand: a compact street ramen cart or counter — noren curtain, hanging paper lantern or neon sign (bold saturated glow), steaming bowl on the counter, a stool, steam rising as drawn painted shapes rather than volumetric simulation.
Palette & light. Night-market palette: deep blue-violet night, hot pink/red neon, warm lantern yellow on the food and face. Lighting is graphic, not physical — bold two-tone splits between neon side and lantern side, halftones carrying the transition.
Composition. A comic panel: dynamic camera (slight dutch or low angle), samurai and raised chopsticks dominant, the bowl and sign supporting, generous negative space where the off-frame opponent would be. If any part of the image reads as default photoreal Cycles/EEVEE output, the task has been missed.
Deliverable. Final render plus a clay/matcap render for geometry evaluation (the style layer will be judged in the main render).
